Following results of inspections carried out at Spanish plants in March 2013 and negotiations held between the Rosselkhoznadzor and Agricultural Production Health Department of the Ministry of Agriculture held in Moscow on March 27, 2013, the Rosselkhoznadzor requests that certification of Spanish products intended for Russia should be suspended. In addition, a list of measures is required to demonstrate the measures taken by the Spanish veterinary services to correct deficiencies detected during the inspection and aimed at ensuring the required safety level of animal products exported from Spain to Russia. In case the required measures are not taken before and including April 11, the Rosselkhoznadzor will have to impose temporary restrictions on import of regulated products from a number of Spanish plants on April 12, 2013.
