Last September, an amazing group of “hedge hogs” created by a topiary artist went on show at Clarence House. Steve manning created these woks of art. His latest work, which was commissioned for Prince Charles, is a matching set of four huge topiary pigs crowding around their mother.
He said: “For the topiary, it takes a good three years before we can get the sculpture to the point where we can sell it on and then it needs yearly maintenance to keep in shape”.
Steve´s “pigs” piece went on display at Clarence House as part of “A Garden party with a Difference”. Prince Charles gathered charities, famous faces, gardeners and high street businesses together for an “eco-festival” to challenge and encourage people to make small changes to their lives to combat climate change, a more sustainable lifestyle and save money in these economic crisis times.
