Last September, an amazing group of «hedge hogs» created by a topiary artist went on show at Clarence House. Steve manning created these woks of art. His latest work, which was commissioned for Prince Charles, is a matching set of four huge topiary pigs crowding around their mother.
He said: «For the topiary, it takes a good three years before we can get the sculpture to the point where we can sell it on and then it needs yearly maintenance to keep in shape».
Steve´s «pigs» piece went on display at Clarence House as part of «A Garden party with a Difference». Prince Charles gathered charities, famous faces, gardeners and high street businesses together for an «eco-festival» to challenge and encourage people to make small changes to their lives to combat climate change, a more sustainable lifestyle and save money in these economic crisis times.
