In the heart of Old Riga-Dome Square at 4 Tirgoņu Street, the doors opened at restaurant «Hospitālis» where everyone can enjoy a pseudo hospital atmosphere. Its creation involved Latvia’s largest hospitals and Medical history Museum, contributing to its authenticity is the fully restored attributes of the diverse medical offices from the Soviet era. Dishes like salted herring fillet, bruschetta with chorizo and campignons, crunchy potato salad and grilled pork steak can be eaten. You use surgical instruments to eat and sip cocktails from test tubes.

THE MUSEUM OF HAM
Not a museum as such, more of a cured-meat-obsessed chain of butchers and restaurants in the city centre, near El Museo del Prado and El Museo del Aire. Stop here for a coffee by accident or you should have lunch high quality typical dishes at a good price and you’d do well not to look up, as pork leg after pork leg hang from the ceiling, and in some cases even the stairs.
